The NC Craft Beer community is a tight knit group, so when someone suffers a loss like this, we want to come together and support as much as we can. So, tonight we’ll tap 3 @woodenrobotbrewery beers and will be donating all proceeds to Dan’s wife and newborn son, as well as the Wooden Robot staff fund. Happy October, Raleigh 🍻 A new month means a new feature artist, and today we’re excited to introduce Kevin Peddicord! “As a commercial illustrator, I created art for the Carolina Hurricanes, wrestler Macho Man Randy Savage, Orioles Hall of Fame player Eddie Murray, and the Durham Bulls. Eventually, I would turn to oil painting and my desire to show the world a humorous side as a narrative storyteller and steward of pop culture. I’m inspired by classic cinema (from the 1920s through the 1970s)… my goal is two fold: to honor the iconic images that have shaped film history and to keep alive these moments and performers for future generations.” Join us this Friday for First Friday, where Kevin will hangout, talk about his work, and sell some pieces!

Poppy tropical fruits, light night-like acidity with a lower ABV. An absolute delight to drink and hide-from-your-friends type of bottle. BICHI Flama Roja 2020 There are few more adventurous wine projects and flavor profiles than Bichi down in Baja, Mexico, and they gave me my beloved puppy Lula, so I am indebted for life. Punchy ripe red fruits, subtle leathery tannins, and acid that suits this being a contender for a chilled red on a warm autumn afternoon. GEORGES DESCOMBES Morgon 2020 Classic from an unsung master. This is everything you want from a Beaujolais. Cherry-cola and woodsmoke, buzzy in the glass! COS Pithos Bianco 2021 This is my type of orange wine! Grecanico is such a cool indigenous grape—here macerated and aged in clay amphora to give a classy and layered example of how many new dimensions skin-contact wines bring out in a grape. COS Frappato 2022 Another native grape of Sicily that makes me wanna move there. Kind of like an Italian Beaujolais—light-bodied and chill-able, ruby red fruits, and nice welcoming spice. HOLGER KOCH Ja Goutte 2022 This is like the ultimate fun white wine. Open it at a party and it'll be the first thing gone type of thing. Like a salty Burgundy wine but way more interested in partying than being fancy. FOND CYPRES Premier Jus I think of this like a dark and broody rosé. First juice of the year! A time to celebrate amidst the business of a new season, which is something I always try and take time to do when we are on tour.

Now imagine the opening credits to Nickelodeon's Rugrats is playing on a TV in that Taco Bell lobby. Now imagine the lobby's floor is the carpeting from an arcade or movie theater. This is what the inside of my brain looks like. Artists like Andy Warhol and Keith Haring have heavily inspired me over the years and helped me develop an appreciation for bright colors and bold lines. When I'm not at my office job, I enjoy celebrating contrasting shapes and colors by mixing acrylic paints and other mediums to create abstract pieces.” Savannah’s joining us on First Friday this week (September 1st) to chat about her work and sell some pieces from her collection. We’re excited to introduce our July Feature Artist, Good Christian! Christian is a Raleigh-based visual artist and North Carolina native primarily working in acrylic and digital design software, Christian draws heavily on classic comic book illustration styles, hip hop imagery, and pop culture references to explore deeper themes like death, love, happiness, loneliness—tropes that are familiar to he and his audience. He began painting young, inspired by comic book conventions he attended with his dad, where he met artists who continue to inform his work and personal style. Christian’s joining us for First Friday this week, July 7th, to chat about his work and sell some pieces from his collection. Stop by, support, and hang out with us!
